You invited your friends to a celebration, not a photoshoot. My job is to catch the day as it unfolds - the nerves, the speeches, the dancing - while stepping in for the portraits and group shots worth stopping for.
I shoot on a completely silent camera, so I can work close without breaking the moment. You get a full gallery of your day, delivered fast, with the kind of images you'll actually want on the wall.

Wedding photography FAQs
How much is a wedding photographer in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire?
My wedding packages start at £1,000 for five hours, £1,500 for a full eight-hour day, and £1,800 for ten hours. Every package includes a pre-wedding chat and a private gallery of edited, high-resolution images. Tell me your date and I'll confirm availability.
We're awkward in front of a camera. Is that a problem?
Not at all, nearly every couple tells me that. For most of the day you'll be with your guests and I'll photograph what happens. For the portraits I give simple direction, keep it short and get you back to the party. The stiffness usually goes in the first five minutes.
How would you describe your style?
Relaxed and documentary, with a guiding hand when it counts. I catch the day as it unfolds, but I'll step in to direct the portraits and group shots so you look your best without the day turning into a photoshoot.
Have you photographed at our venue?
Quite possibly. I've photographed weddings at Swynford Manor, The Granary Estates, Bassmead Manor Barns, Burleigh Hill Farm, Lanwades Hall, Longstowe Hall, Chippenham Park, Holmewood Hall, Leez Priory and most of the Cambridge colleges, including Trinity Hall, Westminster College and Queens' College. If I haven't been to yours, I'll do my homework on it before the day so I know where the light falls.
Do you photograph registry office weddings?
Yes, often. I've photographed ceremonies at most of the register offices in the area, including Cambridge, Huntingdon and Bury St Edmunds, as well as small weddings with just close family. Register office ceremonies are short and tightly timed, so I know when to be in position, and where to go nearby for a few relaxed portraits afterwards. Tell me your plans and I'll quote for the time you actually need.
Do you photograph barn weddings?
Often. Cambridgeshire has some of the best barn venues around, and I've photographed weddings at Bassmead Manor Barns, The Granary Estates, Burleigh Hill Farm, The Thatch Barn near St Neots and Blackthorpe Barn near Bury St Edmunds. Barns can get dark inside, so I bring my own lighting for the evening and know where to find the best light during the day.
How far in advance should we book?
Summer Saturdays usually go first, often a year or more ahead. Weekday and winter dates are regularly available at shorter notice, so it's always worth asking about your date.
How many photos do we get?
It depends on the length of the day, but you'll receive a full gallery of edited high-resolution images, typically several hundred for a full day, all downloadable and ready to share and print.
How long until we see them?
You'll get a small preview set within a few days, with the full edited gallery usually ready within six weeks.
Will you photograph our guests as well as us?
Yes, and it's some of the best of the day. Grandparents during the speeches, friends on the dancefloor, the kids under the tables. Your gallery tells the story of everyone who was there, not just the two of you.
Do we get a say in the group shots?
Absolutely. We'll agree a shortlist of group shots before the day so they're done efficiently, and you can get back to your guests.
Do you do a pre-wedding call?
Yes. We'll have a chat before the day to run through your timeline, the shots that matter to you and any details I should know about.
Do you do engagement shoots?
Yes, as a paid session on its own or added to your wedding booking. I've photographed plenty around Cambridge city centre, with the colleges as a backdrop. It's also a good way to get used to the camera before the day, and the photos work well for save the dates.
Can you photograph a surprise proposal?
Yes. We plan the spot, the timing and a signal together beforehand, so I'm in position with the right light when the question comes. I photograph the moment and the reaction, then some relaxed portraits of you both straight after. It's a paid session, so tell me your idea and I'll quote.
What if the weather's bad?
Rain and snow often give some of the best photos of the day. I've photographed couples in the snow in Ely. I always plan indoor and covered spots at your venue, and bring my own lighting, so the weather never leaves us stuck.
Do you travel outside Cambridgeshire?
Yes. I'm based in Cambridgeshire and cover the surrounding counties as standard, and I'm happy to travel further afield. Just let me know your venue.
Do you photograph same-sex weddings?
Of course. I've photographed same-sex weddings across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, and the approach is the same for every couple: your day and your people, photographed as it happens.
Can we see a full wedding gallery?
Yes. The gallery on this page is a cross-section, so just ask and I'll send you a complete wedding from start to finish, so you can see how a whole day looks.
What happens if you're ill on the day?
In fifteen years I've never missed a wedding, but I'm part of a network of professional photographers, so in a genuine emergency I can call on a trusted colleague to cover, and I'd still edit your gallery personally.
Do you have backup gear?
Always. I shoot on dual professional bodies with backup cameras, lenses and memory cards, and every image is backed up in multiple places.
Do you offer albums?
Yes. You can design and order your album straight from your online gallery at trade prices, choosing your favourite images and layout yourself, with no mark-up from me.
