Join the club - 99% of the people I photograph say exactly this, and it's my job to fix it. I don't stand there in silence; I talk you through it, find your best angles, and make sure you feel comfortable. You'll be surprised how easy, and often how fun, it actually is.
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you feel confident. If you're a lawyer, that might be a suit. If you're a ceramicist, that might be an apron. The goal is to look like you. (Just try to avoid giant logos - they date quickly.)
Do you do personal branding shoots?
Yes, and I love them. Unlike a corporate headshot, a personal branding session is more lifestyle-focused - a mix of natural portraits, behind-the-scenes action and the finer details of your craft or workspace. The aim is a diverse gallery that feels like you, giving you a wealth of professional content for your website, socials and marketing. I work with clients across Cambridgeshire and London.
Can you suggest locations?
Definitely. After photographing across Cambridgeshire for over 15 years, I've a curated list of spots that work beautifully in different seasons and light - central Cambridge, the riverside at Ely and St Ives, or a quiet golden-green space away from the crowds. We'll talk through the look you want and I'll propose locations that fit. I'm also happy to come to your home or office.
Do I need a studio?
Rarely. Natural light and real environments - coffee shops, offices, outdoors - usually tell a better story than a blank wall. But if you specifically need a plain studio background, I can bring my portable kit to you or arrange a visit to my home studio near Huntingdon.
Do you photograph newborns or families?
I offer relaxed lifestyle newborn sessions at your home - minimal props or unnatural poses, just you with your new baby in your own space. Family portraits work the same way: natural and unforced.
How is this different from your corporate headshots?
