This website is operated by Mark Holmes Media Ltd, trading as Mark Holmes Photography ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

What information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you give us directly - when you send an enquiry, complete our contact or booking form, or email us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company name, event details and anything you choose to tell us.
Information collected automatically - when you visit the site, our hosting and security systems log standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and operating system. This helps us keep the site secure and working properly.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
We use your data only to:
- respond to your enquiry and discuss your photography needs (lawful basis: legitimate interest, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract);
- provide and deliver our photography services, including bookings and galleries (lawful basis: contract);
- keep the website secure and prevent fraud (lawful basis: legitimate interest);
- meet our legal and accounting obligations (lawful basis: legal obligation).
Cookies

Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We use trusted third-party providers to run our business, who may process your data only to perform tasks on our behalf and are bound to keep it confidential. These include our website host, our email provider, our customer management system (Studio Ninja) and our client gallery platform (Aftershoot). Where you book a shoot, the personal data needed to manage your booking is held in Studio Ninja.
How long we keep your data
We keep enquiry and client data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your data protection rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased in certain circumstances; restrict or object to our processing; and request portability of your data. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will remove it.
